“All that is organic and material
captures my attention.
Then my mind, immediately,
transforms it into a
piece of bronze
to shape”

Osanna Visconti di Modrone

New Bronze Scented Candle

Creations

All of Osanna Visconti’s creations are made in bronze using the technique called lost wax casting. This technique uses a negative form in which molten metal is cast. An initial waxs culpture is used to create a plaster mold. During the drying phase in ovens up to 650° the wax is melted and drained away, leaving behind the negative form for casting. The wax model, which Osanna kneads and shapes by hand is therefore the principal element giving identity to her creations. After the bronze is cast they will remain in the oven for several weeks. After the final stage of chisiling away the outer core, the bronze is ready to recieve finishing touches and eventual color patinas.
